Welcome

Did you know that there are more than 6,700 languages being spoken in the world today?

Diversity of language is what the Saskatchewan Organization for Heritage Languages is all about. We are a provincial non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the study and teaching of heritage languages. That means we concentrate on languages other than Canada's official languages of English and French.

SOHL operates as an umbrella organization for groups, schools and individuals across the province.

Our site is full of information about our programs, the different language schools in Saskatchewan and, of course, information for both students and teachers!

Heritage Language Day | Free admission. Everyone welcome!

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18 |1:00 - 3:00 pm |Balfour Collegiate Auditorium - 1245 College Avenue

Come join us in a celebration of language and culture in recognition of International Mother Language Day (February 21). The event will feature multicultural performances and a free sampling of ethnic foods (also juice and donuts for the kids).

Currently, we are looking for heritage language teachers to take part in our Mini-Language Lessons Program.  The program places heritage language teachers into regular and separate school classrooms in hopes of promoting cultural awareness and acceptance.
